Mick Brown has been working in the Brisbane boat industry since 1985, starting at Norman Park Boatbuilders as a labourer for Fred Fleming. He then went to Lloyds Shipyard at Oxford St, Bulimba in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. In 1994 Mick started a long career with Millkraft at Byron St, Bulimba under the guidance of master shipwright Peter Hardisty (right up until Peter’s retirement in 2019). Peter and Millkraft were well known for their fine work and attention to detail, resulting in much of their work being boat owners bringing their vessels back year after year, for maintenance or repairs, or just the yearly antifoul and paint and varnish spruce-up. Mick Brown is now Mickraft Marine, and wants to bring you the same quality of detail to your boat that made Millkraft a trusted name in the classic timber boat industry all over Australia. Mick’s services are general boat maintenance and minor repairs to timber and fibreglass boats, topside painting and varnishing (brushwork, and roll and tip a specialty), skin-fittings and hoses maintained or replaced, antifoul  and Propspeed application, anode replacement, boat cleaning, polishing and more.
